About Partna

Partna is stablecoin payment infrastructure for Africa. Businesses use our API to collect, convert and settle money between African currencies and global markets: onramp and offramp between local currency and stablecoins, and local collections settled in USD or stablecoins.

We are backed by Y Combinator (W22) and live in Nigeria. We process more than 200,000 transactions a month at a 99% success rate, with more than $250M in cumulative volume.

The role

The hard part of our work is not the stablecoin side. It is the last mile: moving money reliably between local payment systems and blockchains. You will build and run the Go services that do this, and own your projects from design through production.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test and operate production Go services behind our payments API.
  • Build and maintain integrations with blockchains and wallets across the networks we support, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Polygon, Celo and Avalanche.
  • Integrate with local payment providers and keep transaction flows correct under failure: idempotency, retries, reconciliation, and clear handling of failed or partial payments.
  • Own projects from discovery and design through delivery and operation.
  • Translate product requirements into clear technical plans.
  • Make pragmatic architectural decisions and document the important trade-offs.
  • Build scalable, secure and observable APIs and services.
  • Establish testing, monitoring, alerting and deployment practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues across application and infrastructure.
  • Review code and give constructive, actionable feedback.
  • Mentor engineers and help raise technical standards across the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years writing production Go.
  • Experience building production systems in fintech or payments.
  • Hands-on experience with blockchain systems in production, such as wallet management, on-chain transaction handling, node or RPC integrations, or smart contract interaction.
  • Experience designing and maintaining production APIs or distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, software design and system architecture.
  • Experience with relational or non-relational databases.
  • Experience with automated testing and continuous integration.
  • Ability to diagnose complex application and infrastructure issues.
  • Understanding of application security and secure development practices, including handling of keys and secrets.
  • Precision with the math of money: decimal handling, currency conversion, fees and balance reconciliation.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the team.

Nice to have

  • Experience with stablecoins such as USDT and USDC, or with payments in African markets.
  • Experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Experience with observability tools for logs, metrics and tracing.
  • Experience improving legacy systems incrementally.
  • Working knowledge of at least one other programming language.
  • Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities.

What we offer

  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Paid annual leave and public holidays.
  • Modern equipment and home-office support.
  • Direct ownership of systems that move real money for real customers.

Interview process

  1. CV review.
  2. Introductory conversation: role expectations and mutual fit.
  3. Technical discussion: your previous work, engineering judgement and fundamentals.
  4. Offer and references, where applicable.

We aim to complete the process within one week and will explain what to expect before each stage.
